Restoring Europe's wetlands,
one decision at a time.

Restore4Life develops nature-based solutions for wetland restoration across nine reference sites — and the tools that help others read the landscape before they begin.

A note from the consortium

Wetlands are among Europe's most productive ecosystems and its most threatened. Restoring them is rarely a question of ecology alone — it is political, economic, social, technological, legal, and environmental, all at once.

Restore4Life brings together scientists, practitioners and communities at nine wetland sites across the continent. We study what works, where, and under which conditions — and we publish tools that help others make better decisions before the first spade enters the ground.
